Ahmedabad: Online fraudsters dupe an Indian Air Force employee to tune Rs 2 lakh from him in the garb of providing him with a bumper prize in a lottery. The victim has been identified as Omprakash Agarwal. The 34-year-old man is a native of Jharkhand's Ranchi.

As per the report, Agarwal got a text congratulating him for winning a motorcycle worth Rs 75,000. When he dialled up the number given in the text message to claim his lottery amount, the unidentified man on the other side of the call told Agrawal that his superior would call him up.   

Later on, another individual (Anil Kumar) called him and took Agarwal's banking details on the pretext of sending his bumper gift. He also promised to send him another cash prize.

Meanwhile, Anil requested the complainant to pay Rs 15,650 as registration fees.In his complaint to the police, the IAF jawan said, the fraudsters swindled Rs 2.25 lakh on the pretext of different lottery schemes. 

According to the Times of India report, Agarwal got another call after few minutes, cybercrook pretending to be a customer care executive took bank details from him. He then made requests to ensure that no unscrupulous transaction would be made by those cheaters who had taken Agrawal’s banking details. When the IAF jawan dialled the customer care number to freeze his account, his number got connected with another cybercrook who duped him of Rs 6 lakh.  

The customer care employee sent him two links to sort out the problems. Agarwal downloaded two different apps on instructions provided by a customer care executive which gave access to his cellphone to another cybercrook. After getting access to Agarwal's phone, cybercrooks swindled Rs 6 lakh from his bank account.
