NJ casino, sports bet, online revenue down slightly in October. Money won from in-person gamblers at the casinos fell by more than 7%. The industry is trying to get back to pre-pandemic business levels.   The first 10 months of this year are running 4.5% ahead of the amount won over the same 10 month period in 2019. The nine casinos won $220.6 million from the in person gambler in the month of October, up 1.2%. In terms of inperson revenue, Borgata won $62.4 million, Hard Rock won 4%, HardRock won 38.9 million and Ocean won 28.3 million.

New Jersey's casinos, horse tracks and online partners won $430.6 million from gamblers in May. The core business, revenue from in-person gambers, fell short of the level of May 2019. Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa led the market in terms of money won from people. The casinos’ internet gambling operations won nearly 26%. It was the highest revenue for the month of April in over a decade. It is the third year since the coronavirus pandemic hit. People wagered $766.4 million on sports in New Jersey in the same month.

The state has filed an appeal in the case challenging the August decision striking down changes to a law that would give the city's casinos millions of dollars in tax breaks. The judge will rule by Friday on the state's request for a stay of his August ruling. The amendments removed internet gaming and online sports betting revenues from calculations of gross gaming revenue. They also protected smaller casinos like Bally's Atlantic City, Golden Nugget Atlantic and Resorts Casino Hotel from closure. Some analysts believe the casinos could have survived without the additional tax break. It is not possible to do the analysis in time for Nov. 1 tax payments to be made.

Judge Michael Blee will hear arguments Wednesday morning in the state's request for a stay of his August 29 decision that struck down amendments to the casino payments-in-lieu-of-taxes law. The amendments granted Atlantic City’s casinos tens of millions of dollars in tax breaks. Governor Phil Murphy signed them in late 2021. A spokesperson for Murphy said Tuesday the appeal has been filed. The state argued the amendments serve the public purpose of stabilizing the Atlantic Coast casino industry. It also argued that the casinos are found to serve a publicpurpose simply by employing people and paying taxes.

The nine casinos in Atlantic City recorded a 14.1% rise in associated net revenues to $828.8 million in the second quarter of 2019.

Mark Giannantonio has been appointed as the new president of the Casino Association of New Jersey. He succeeds Joe Lupo, who is moving to Las Vegas. Gianantonie has more than 35 years of experience in the gaming and hospitality industry. He is currently the President and CEO of Atlantic City's Resorts Casino Hotel. His professional background also includes nearly four years until May 2011 as President of Tropicana Casino and Resort. The Association promotes the casino industry in Atlantic city. It seeks to help the city transform into a leading destination resort location.

The Local 54 branch of the Unite Here trade union has voted in favor of authorizing a full-blown strike against the city's collection of nine casinos. 96% of those who voted voted to give the union's negotiating committee the right to call a strike next month if no progress on desired ‘significant’ salary increases be reached.

August's gross gaming revenues for Atlantic City casinos increased by 31% year-on-year to $427.6 million. August of 2020 was the first full month of restored casino operations following a full coronavirus-related shutdown that lasted 108 days.

Gaming with Landcadia Holdings II Inc. that plans to change its name to. Golden nugget online gaming Inc., and its trading symbol to “GNOG”. Land cia is a special-purpose acquisitions company owned by Golden Nuget owner Tilman Fertitta.
