Del Lago Resort & Casino in Seneca County is among the most popular casinos in the nation, according to statistics tallied by the Online Betting Guide. The list, according to the sportsbook, was complied using TikTok and ranked according to the most views on each casino's hashtag.
Del Lago, which opened in 2017 in Tyre, was listed seventh on the list, which was topped by the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas. It was the only New York casino on the list.
OLBG searched the top 25 casinos in the nation, based off a 2022 Vacation Idea magazine article, and researched each casino on the popular social media platform to measure the popularity of each casino listed in the article. Wynn Casino has more than 76 million views, based off its hashtag, while Del Lago (#dellagocasino) has around 38,400 views on Tik Tok, according to OLBG.
Del Lago includes a 96,000-square-foot casino with roughly 1,700 slot machines and 80 table games, as well as a 205-room hotel, nine restaurants or bars, a 6,000 square-foot sportsbook area and two entertainment venues.
The $440 million casino, positioned to help draw tourists to the Finger Lakes region, struggled to meet projected revenues in the years following its opening, with previous owners eventually approaching state government for financial help. Earlier this year, the property was purchased by Churchill Downs Inc., a Kentucky-based wagering and gaming entertainment company that runs the Kentucky Derby.
