Cordish Gaming Group has appointed Jamie Williams as Director of Sales for the upcoming Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.
Cordish Gaming Group, the gaming division of The Cordish Companies, has appointed Jamie Williams as the Director of Sales for the upcoming Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.
The $270m development, which is set to open in early 2025, aims to be a significant addition to the Shreveport-Bossier market.
Williams will oversee strategic sales and marketing initiatives for the new 550-room hotel and the 25,000-square-foot Event Centre. The Event Centre is now open for meeting and event bookings and features a large ballroom, breakout rooms, a pre-function area, a boardroom and a performance stage – all equipped with A/V systems.
Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana will be the first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier market and the first Live! branded property in Louisiana. The project, located on the site of the former Diamond Jacks Casino & Hotel, started construction in December 2023.
It is expected to generate $35m in gaming tax revenues for Bossier City and $168m for the state of Louisiana over the first five years of operation. Additionally, the project is anticipated to create approximately 750 construction jobs and 750 permanent positions.
In her new role, Williams will lead a team with experience in sales and event management. She will also collaborate with the food and beverage team, aiming to ensure smooth event execution.
Williams has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having held leadership roles at Golden Nugget Lake Charles Hotel and Casino, Shreveport Convention Center and Horseshoe Bossier City Casino and Hotel.

The development follows The Cordish Companies' acquisition of Diamond Jacks Casino in April 2023. This acquisition is part of the company's broader strategy to expand its Live! brand in the South Central and South Eastern United States. The Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana will feature over 47,000 square feet of gaming space, including more than 1,000 slots and electronic table games, live-action table games and a sportsbook. The property will also include 30,000 square feet of dining and entertainment venues.
