iOS mobile gamers shed close to $1 billion on social casino apps during the surveyed period from Q3 2020 to Q2 2021. According to Liftoff and GameRefinery, gamers spent around $990 million on these apps in Q1 2021 and quarterly profits began surging to $260 million in Q 2 2021, which is the nadir of the pandemic.

Even after the recent ban on COVID-19, mobile casino apps featuring casinos generate a strong profit. Over half of the people engaging with social casinos are 45 years old or older. Participants are almost equally split between men and women. There have been 13 million new gamers during the period of pandemic. Facebook was sued in April over the status of social casino on its platform.
