It has been said that money is the root of all evil. I don't know if that's true and I certainly wasn't thinking about that when I purchased what turned out to be losing 'Mega Millions' tickets today.

It was a $4 investment in mild entertainment I guess. But, what would I do, what would you do, if we had won that $306 Million Prize? People Who Win Large Lottery Jackpots or Other Windfalls Often Blow It

According to the National Endowment for Financial Education, about 70 percent of people who have won large lottery jackpots or fall into the possession of large sums of money all at once, wind up going broke and as much as one-third of them file for bankruptcy.

Some of these temporary millionaires get bombarded with requests for money from all directions -- long-lost cousins, friends, family members, and complete strangers. It's hard to say no, apparently, and so they don't.
