Station Casinos is considering opening a small Wildfire-branded venue on a five-acre parcel of land it already owns near the center of Las Vegas. The company was recently given the go ahead for its Station Casino Durango facility in the southwestern suburbs of the Nevada metropolis.

Station Casinos wants to expand its Wildfire Casino property along Rancho Drive. Wildfires is situated less than two miles south of North Las Vegas Airport and boasts a sportsbook, restaurant and a small casino with some 155 slots.

Station Casinos is planning to double its presence in southern Nevada over the next few decades. It is expected to start construction on its $750 million Station Casino Durango early in the new year. The firm also owns approximately 315 acres of Clark County real estate that is being held in storage for future gambling-friendly projects.

Lorenzo Fertitta is Vice-Chairman of Red Rock Resorts Incorporated. He wants to develop properties in Las Vegas. The company recently sold 90 acres near Reno for $32.6 million.

Station Casino Durango is to be built in two stages on 50 acres of land and feature a two-tower hotel with 452 rooms, restaurants and a roughly 93,000 sq ft casino. Frank Fertitta's brother is the Chief Executive Officer for Red Rock Resorts Incorporated.
