The Illinois Gaming Board on Thursday (October 26, 2023) approved a new permanent license for the Golden Nugget Casino in Danville.  Specifically, the Gaming Board issued new casino owners’ licenses to Danville Development, LLC, doing business as Golden Nugget Danville, along with Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort in Williamson County, and Bally’s in Chicago.

Before the Board voted on licensure, representatives from each of the casinos addressed the Board about their suitability for licensure, providing highlights of their respective operations since opening under a tentative license.

‘’With today’s licensing actions, the Illinois Gaming Board has opened and licensed five new casinos since November of 2021 in Rockford, Waukegan, Danville, Carterville, and Chicago in addition to its other regulatory and law enforcement work,’’ said IGB Administrator Marcus D. Fruchter.   ‘’During this period of unprecedented growth and expansion, the staff and Board Members of the IGB remained steadfast in our commitment to ensuring the ethics, compliance, integrity, safety, and transparency of Illinois gaming and we will continue to do so.”

The Golden Nugget Casino is located on Danville’s east side at 204 Eastgate Drive.  Construction on the casino started on April 19, 2022 and the casino opened its doors to the public on May 27 of this year.  The gaming floor features over 500 slot machines along with 14 Las Vegas style table games.  It is adjacent to Danville’s new Saltgrass Steak House.
