Yonkers' Empire City Casino donated over US$102,000 to eight local non-profit organizations via its employee and guest-funded Community Grants Program. The recipients include Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of NY, Greyston Foundation, Yonkers Family YMCA, Feeding Westchester and others.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York received US$10,000 to fund a mobile foot pantry. Feeding Westchester received a US $10k donation. United Way of West and Putnam received two grants worth US10K each. The Greyston Foundation received $ 10k for its Workforce Education and Training Program. Empire City Casino is planning to expand its gaming operations and apply for one of the three full-scale casino licenses in downstate New York. MGM Resorts’ CEO and President William Hornbuckle wants to invest serious cash in the Yonkers casino. Empire City is considered to be among the favourites for the license.
