Unifor Local 444 and Caesars Windsor Casino staff have agreed to a contract. The union and the management have been negotiating since February this year. In a recent online meeting, the majority of the workers voted in favor of a pressure tactic such as going out on strike.

The union representing employees of Caesars Windsor Casino has agreed to the proposed terms of the new contract. The new agreement will replace the current one that expires on April 2, 2022. New employees will receive a signing bonus of CA$1600 for full-time positions, CA $1200 for part-timers and CA675 for casuals. There will be a one per cent pension increase. About 600 workers remain laid off at the casino. The union wants to see provincial and federal governments offer those who are no longer eligible for employment insurance.

Caesars Windsor Casino reopened at the end of January. New iGaming market will have a huge effect on the land-based industry. Around 100 of the 500 gaming-related jobs at Caesar's Windsor property will be eventually lost.
