Both Niagara Falls casinos - Casino Niagara and Fallsview Resort and Casino - announced on social media yesterday (July 13) that they would be reopening their doors on July 23.The initial announcements were mostly identical, likely due to the fact that both are operated by Connecticut-based Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment. However, the big difference is while Casino Niagara will only operate from 10 am to 2 am daily (with the last entrant allowed in at 1:15 am), Fallsview will be back 24/7 with access to the hotel, gaming floor, slots, electronic table games, Perks Cafe and the popular Chill Bar.That said, under Provincial Step Three guidelines, both will be held to 50 per cent capacity. That’s a far cry from last summer when both could have reopened under Stage Three but with a 50 person maximum. Also while Casino Niagara announced they will have no table games (Poker, Blackjack, etc) until further notice, Fallsview said they would have “limited table games” starting July 30.The news came hot on the heels of Great Canadian Gaming Corporation’s July 12 announcement that they would be reopening 11 of their casinos in Ontario on July 16.Not long after, Caesars Windsor, operated by Caesars Entertainment Inc., announced they would also reopen July 23.The one hitch to reentering the Niagara Falls’ casinos is that you must now have a Momentum Card, which is now the joint players’ rewards cards shared by the two spots as part of Mohegan rewards program. Gamers who previously used a Players Advantage Card at the casinos will now find their points have shifted to the Momentum program. All casinos in the province are technically owned by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation though all are operated by different gaming consortiums.
