Wynn Resorts confirms that their upcoming resort in Ras Al Khaimah, located in the United Arab Emirates, will contain a gambling establishment.
Wynn Marjan is the first integrated resort in the United Arab Emirates Gulf Cooperation Council region to offer gambling establishments. The resort is expected to be ready to accommodate guests in Ras Al Khaimah in 2026. It will be built on an artificial island. The CEO of Wynn Resorts, Craig Billings, said that the casino at the new integrated resorts would have a much larger scope than that of the Wynns Las Vegas.
Wynn Marjan confirmed as first casino resort in UAE. The resort will be built under strict Islamic laws. Wynn CEO believes the group appreciates the importance and opportunity of the Marj being the only resort of its kind in the region to offer casino services.
Gambling in the UAE is illegal, but it is legal for UAE citizens to register at offshore operators licensed in Malta or the UK. There are no shortage of bookmakers or online casinos in Arabic on the internet. It is not yet known if local citizens can gamble at the new Wynn resort.
Wynn Marjan is the first casino resort in the UAE. The resort is expected to be bigger than their flagship venue in Las Vegas. Ras Al Khaimah's Tourism Authority representative Raki Phillips believes that it will boost tourism and hospitality sectors and create new jobs for locals. Caesar's Palace and MGM are planning to build casinos in their respective regions.
