What to do and see in Las Vegas 2022

here’s much more to Las Vegas than casinos. And now that megastar Adele has announced an exclusive residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Hotel beginning in January, there’s even more reason to take the trip.
From the best way to see the sights to the casinos with pool parties, along with a few lesser-known activities, let Alexandra Riemann be your guide.
See the sights
1. If you’re in Vegas, you’ll want to take an obligatory snap in front of the iconic “Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas” sign. Just be sure to go early or expect to queue.
2. Take in the buzz and enjoy some stellar people watching with a walk along The Strip, which has all of the hotels and casinos along it. This is where everything happens.
3. Take the trip up to the Stratosphere Tower, a hotel and casino on the northern end of The Strip. It’s the US’ tallest free standing observation tower, so well worth it for the views, plus it hosts loads of fun activities.
4. If you’re into movies, don’t miss The Hangover Wedding Chapel, where the hit comedy was filmed. In fact, as per this blog post, there is no real building for it. It’s a fake front attached to the building of the Hostel Cat. (Which I highly recommend, having once stayed there and made some great friends).
5. Take a stroll to DTLV - Downtown Las Vegas, the historic heart of Vegas just north of the strip. This is where the actual gambling district used to be before The Strip took over. You’ll find plenty of museums, art and bars to peruse.
My personal tip: Stroll around the Container Park. It’s packed with restaurants, shops and entertainment for the whole family.
Hit up the casinos
While going to the casinos in the evening gives you all those Ocean’s 11 feels, take a whole day to explore a few of them as they are all unique in their own way. Just be warned – it takes much much longer than you’d expect, and the buildings are further away than they might seem.

My top tip: At the Venetian you’ll feel like you’re in Venice with all its little canals. Go for a pool party and you’ll get to see the casino from a totally different perspective. You can even get in for free if you pre-register through this website. Oh, and be sure to factor in some shopping at Forum Shops at Caesar’s.
Party people
Going on a great night out is a must in Vegas. If you like a bargain, head to No Cover Night Clubs, where you can often bag good deals for getting into clubs and sometimes get on guest lists for special events or tables with bottle service in clubs. Just email them and let them know where you want to go.

Cirque Du Soleil Tour
The show itself is amazing, but you can also go on an insider tour through the whole production which is worth $165 million. The KA Theatre in the MGM Grand opens its doors to the public every Tuesday from 11am.
Find The Golden Nugget
The biggest golden nugget in the world “The Hand of Faith” lies in Vegas. It was found in 1980 in Australia and weighs a whopping 27.6 kg (61 pounds). Head to the Gold Tower hotel lobby to see it.
Zipline Through Downtown Las Vegas
Fly through Vegas like Superman if you dare. At SlotZilla you can opt for either the lower “Zipline” at 23m (77 feet) or take on the upper “Zoomline” at 35m (114 feet). Go on, be brave.
