Violence gripped Pittsburgh over the weekend as a man shot a victim in the leg in a casino parking garage and a fight broke out at Heinz Field stadium during an NFL preseason game.

The shooting occurred at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh at 1:00 am on August 21. The suspect was arrested and the victim taken to hospital in a stable condition. The victim and suspect knew each other. Rivers casino bills itself as offering “24-hour gaming action” and lists 2,500 slots games, a variety of casino table games and 55 electronic table game among its gambling attractions.

Pittsburgh joins the trend of casino-vicinity violence. The Rivers Casino Pittsburgh shooting follows similar incidents in Arizona and Las Vegas. A fight broke out next door to the Rivers casino during the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Detroit Lions NFL preseason game on August 21.  A Detroit man is facing first-degree murder and felony firearm charges after gunning down a man in the parking lot of MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit on March 21, 2020.

Pittsburgh Police are investigating the incident. They are asking for help in identifying the people involved.
