The Finnish state-owned gaming operator, Veikkaus, released the results of a new survey on Wednesday. Problem gambling in Finland has declined by 1.8% since 2020. The number of problem gamblers has decreased by 75,000 since 2021. The pandemic-related temporary closures and limits for gaming venues and sportsbooks and mandatory authentication for slots have also helped reduce problem gambling.

Respondents in Veikkaus survey affirm that Veikaus acts responsibly. The state-owned gaming operator plans to commission a new survey about responsible gambling. The number of problem gamblers is expected to decrease in 2021.
