Two New Cherokee Casinos Could Pop Up Outside Of North Carolina

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians began branching out its retail casino operations last year. Two new Cherokee casinos might be on the way.
Two new Cherokee Casinos are in the works. The tribe formed EBCI Holdings, Inc., in 2020 to handle its gaming businesses. E BCB Holdings is making the bids for Project Thoroughbred. It's worth $25 million and would give EBHC a 44% stake in expanded commercial gaming interests.
EBCI Holdings has permission to bid on new gaming ventures. If successful, there could be two new Cherokee casinos outside of North Carolina. The first wholly tribal casino in Las Vegas opens this week.
