A pearl hiding in a tin of smoked oysters has emerged as a Newcastle retiree’s lucky charm, with the woman certain the hidden treasure led to her weekend division one win.

The New South Wales player held the only division one winning entry in Lotto Strike draw 4998, drawn Saturday 24 July 2021 and takes home the entire division one prize of $132,237.15.

When an official from The Lott reached out to the woman this morning, she had no idea she was in possession of a life-changing ticket.

“Oh my god!” she screamed with excitement.

“I was eating a tin of smoked oysters the other day and I found a pearl in the tin. I’ve had the best luck ever since!

“There’s been lots of lucky little moments like finding a carpark easily and now this!

“I am absolutely amazed.

“This is fantastic. It’s a complete surprise!

“I marked my entry with special numbers like my children’s birthdays and they are even more special now!”

With her lottery fortune about to hit her bank account she explained it would take the pressure off in a big way.

“I’m a pensioner, so this will certainly come in handy,” she said.

“Of course I will share it with my kids and family. It will just make life a lot easier.

“It will be fantastic!”

The thrilled player purchased her winning 12-game marked online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

The winning numbers in Lotto Strike draw 4998 on Saturday 24 July 2021 were 30, 12, 26 and 16.

Lotto Strike is an add-on game played with Saturday Lotto and Monday & Wednesday Lotto. Lotto Strike’s division one prize is won by selecting the first four numbers in the exact order they are drawn during the Lotto draw.

If no one picks all four winning numbers in the draw in same order drawn, the Lotto Strike Jackpot prize pool will jackpot for the next draw.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 243 so far this calendar year, including 63 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
