Las Vegas news this week starts with a new attraction opening soon. There's also a spectacular new Vegas hotel coming, a big car race headed to the Strip, new rules on marijuana consumption, and a new way to get around town. Not to mention the Global Gaming Expo next week.

First, the Global Gaming Expo is taking place in Las Vegas in just over a week. This Week in Gambling will be attending, and shooting video footage at the event and out on the Strip. You're always welcome to come say hello or crash the set. After all, it's Vegas, baby.

Next, let’s talk about marijuana. Nevada is one of the states where pot is legal within certain restrictions. However, the opening legal cannabis consumption lounges is making Las Vegas news. Those lounges may even be open before the end of the year. Some have even opened already.

Also, the Madison Square Garden Entertainment spherical structure, or MSG Sphere, is being build adjacent to the Venetian. If you haven’t heard of it or noticed it on a visit, it's over 500 feet wide and 360 feet tall globe that will be covered with over a million, fully programmable LED panels. It will be a 580,000 square-foot theater with a 160,000 square-foot, wrap around, high definition screen.

Formula 1 racing will also roll into town next year, in the form of the Las Vegas Grand Prix! Slated for a Saturday in November of 2023, the race cars will run right past the hotels and casinos at speeds over 200 miles per hour.

An exciting new hotel will also adorn the Vegas skyline, as Moon World Resorts is launching a $5 billion hotel and casino project. The resort plans a moon replica that will stand 735 feet tall and 650 feet wide that can hold 4,000 guest rooms! This is one we will have to see to believe.

Lastly, the Vegas Underground Loop is old Las Vegas news. But in the near future the growing tunnel network should end up covering an area of about 35 miles! When finished, there will be 55 stations! The construction of the Vegas Loop in downtown is supposed to start sometime next year.
