TCS brings Gaming Floor Live to baccarat

Gaming Floor Live – a real-time casino table games optimisation tool developed by United Kingdom-based manufacturer TCS John Huxley – now has a baccarat version to tap into Asian markets.
The system is used to track the dealer processes involved in managing the game – including how long it takes the dealer to close the betting, deal the cards and pay out on wins.
Gaming Floor Live was originally developed for roulette. The aim is to maximise key performance areas and casino profitability.
The company suggests this new version (pictured at Global Gaming Expo Asia 2014) could substantially improve revenue yield from live table baccarat.
“A lot of casinos think they know what their table yields are, and how they can optimise the workflow of their dealers. Now we can provide the real time data to help support them with fact,” Tracy Cohen, TCS John Huxley’s director of marketing told GGRAsia.
“The product provides data that guides the dealer or the pit manager with information in real time, on the speed of the game, or whether the minimum bet needs to be increased or decreased at a particular point in the shift,” she added.
Development of Gaming Floor Live Baccarat started about two years ago, with the current version developed to address the popularity of baccarat in many Asian markets.
To operate Gaming Floor Live, the dealer has to input a few commands, such as how many people are at the table, bets placed and number of winning hands.
Other variables measured by the product include recording exactly how long it took from the start of the cycle to the first bet placed, how fast the cards were dealt for the first four cards, and the length of time that players – predominantly in Asian markets – take to ‘squeeze’ the cards.
By identifying for example the median length of those processes the dealer can control, Gaming Floor Live gives casino operators the ability to optimise the table in terms of game speed, size of minimum and maximum bets, depending on quantity of players around the table. As a result, the dealer is accountable for the game they control and the casino can then choose to build in a reward structure based on optimum play.
This reward structure can be incorporated across the gaming floor staff body. Pit bosses can log onto the Gaming Floor Live system and better manage the pits they control. The same goes for floor managers. For maximum flexibility, the system has been designed to provide access to any approved user, from any computer or mobile device.
“Gaming Floor Live is a powerful tool that can provide major benefits to the operator as well as their staff,” explained Ms Cohen. “By gathering all the data, the operator can optimise all aspects of the gaming floor, and see where training may be required for some staff, and where rewards may be appropriate for others. It’s a win win for everyone.”
