NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a suspect who slashed a man watching him play a video slot machine over the weekend in Brooklyn, authorities said.

The incident happened at about 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, inside the basement of 820 54th St. in Borough Park where the suspect was playing a video slot machine and the victim, a 63-year-old man, began watching, the NYPD said.

According to officials, the suspect told the victim that he could not watch him play and the victim stepped away.

The suspect, however, retrieved a knife from a scooter that he had with him and slashed the victim to his left forearm.

He then abandoned the scooter and fled on foot on 54th Street towards 9th Avenue, police said.

The victim was transported by EMS in stable condition to Maimonides Medical Center.

Authorities released video footage of the suspect fleeing the incident location with the knife in his hand.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
