Steve Cohen met with more than 500 Queen residents last Saturday to discuss development plans for CitiField. He is considering bringing a casino to the Willets Point property. Some residents are opposed to this idea. Cohen is also considering making a bid for one of the three downstate casino licenses.

CitiField Casino Site is a Public Parkland.

The Queens Civic Congress is opposed to the development of the Queens Parkland. The parkland has been leased to New York Mets since 1961 to use for a stadium and parking area. A shopping mall was once proposed for the same site but the state Court of Appeals ruled that it is public park land.

Steve Cohen is one of several personalities who want to bid for a casino license in New York.
