State-Owned Sächsische Spielbanken Receives Online Slot Machines License
The administration office of the German state Saxony-Anhalt has given an online slot machine license to state-owned land-based casino operator Sächsische Spielbanken.
Sächsische Spielbanken is the first state-owned gambling operator to receive a license for online slot machines. The company will offer online slots through its website Sachsenlotto.de. Germany legalized online casino and poker games on July 1, 2021. The most recent addition to the market were Interwetten and Novomatic subsidiary Admiral.
State-Owned Sächsische Spielbanken received an online slot machine license. The regulations on gambling in Germany are too strict. There is a cap of €1 per bet per slot spin and a maximum wagering limit of $1000 per month. Operators are obliged to pay taxes on the stakes wagered on slot machines and poker games equaling 5.3%.
