CHESTER, PA — New data from state authorities shows revenue at casinos across Pennsylvania were up in January 2023 from January 2022, including one here in Delaware County.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board recently issued a report on gaming revenue at casinos, comparing earnings from January 2022 to January 2023.

Overall, gaming revenue is up more than 18 percent from last year, the board's report shows.

But the revenue wasn't that much more for a Delaware County casino.

According to the board, Harrah's Philadelphia, located in Chester, saw a slight increase in revenue in January 2023 compared to January 2022.

Harrah's Philadelphia saw $17,592,129 in revenue this January.

That figure is up 1.15 percent from January 2022, which was $17,391,752.

Harrah's saw a drop in revenue from slot machines and table games, but saw increased revenue from internet casino-type gaming and from sports betting.

Sports betting revenue for January 2023 was up 289.69 percent from January 2022.

The exact sports betting revenue figures for those time periods are $364,125 for this January and $93,441 last January.
