Resorts World Las Vegas experiences a successful opening

Lim Kok Thay is the Chairman of Genting Malaysia Berhad. He attended the opening of the new Resorts World Las Vegas. Lim Kok told a group of guests that Gentings has not used the entire 87-acre Nevada site it acquired from Boyd Gaming Corporation to build the venue.
Lim almost didn't make it to yesterday's launch of a Las Vegas development due to travel restrictions in his home country. Lim was joined by Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak and other local celebrities in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting event. The group was invited to retire to the fifth-floor pool deck to watch a subsequent fireworks display.
The site that hosts the 66-story Resorts World Las Vegas was once home to the Stardust Resort and Casino. The StardUST was frequented by entertainers including Wayne Newton, George Carlin and Bob Newhart. It was demolished by Boyd Gaming Corporation in 2007 to make way for the Echelon Las Las Vegas project.
Resorts World Las Vegas is being marketed as the most technologically advanced venue in the whole of Las Las. The property offers approximately 300,000 sq ft of meeting space, a two-level retail element hosting 22 shops, casual and high-class restaurants, an in-house spa and fitness center and a 5,00-seat arena. Celine Dion will perform in November.
Genting Malaysia Berhad has tapped American singer Miley Cyrus to headline a July 4 ‘grand opening celebration’ for Resorts World Las Vegas at the development”s Ayu Dayclub facility. The performance is to be broadcast on the 100,000 sq ft LED screen that is a feature of the property “‘North tower‚.
