London-listed iGaming technology provider Playtech has agreed a new strategic partnership to provide its iGaming and sports betting platform to Canada’s NorthStar Gaming.

The agreement will see Playtech power NorthStar’s upcoming iGaming launch in Ontario through its IMS platform.

Following the completion of regulatory approvals and Ontario’s licensing process, NorthStar will launch a multi-product offering later this year, comprising online casino, live casino, sports betting, poker and bingo products.

“NorthStar Gaming is thrilled to be the exclusive Canadian partner in the media and publishing sector with Playtech, the world's leading gambling technology supplier,” said NorthStar Gaming CEO and founding partner Michael Moskowitz.

“Playtech's industry-leading suite of tools will give us an unmatched edge in the marketplace, given our proprietary content and localization - something we know consumers are looking for.”

Playtech CEO Mor Weizer commented: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with NorthStar Gaming as it prepares to launch its market leading online gaming business in Canada. Our success is driven by strategic partnerships with industry leading operators around the world and we are excited to partner with a leading entertainment company like NorthStar Gaming.

“At Playtech, we are driven to deliver a sustainable, commercially viable and engaging entertainment experience - for the benefit of all stakeholders.”

NorthStar has already entered into an omnichannel advertising and marketing services arrangement with Canadian mass media company Torstar Corporation, owner of the flagship Toronto Star newspaper.

Playtech plc (LSE:PTEC) were trading marginally higher by 0.21 per cent at 713.00 pence per share in London earlier Tuesday, 8.00 per cent below its 52-week high of 775.00p set last November.
