RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) – After a little more than a year since the Virginia Lottery launched its online games, players have won more than $1 billion.

In fewer than 16 months, more than 213,000 unique players have had more than 196 million wins playing at valottery.com.

Those figures do not count the traditional retail store locations that offer Virginia Lottery games across the Commonwealth which account for 70 percent of total lottery sales which includes the popular games of Powerball, Mega Millions, Cash4Life, Pick 3 and Pick 4 as well as instant win scratchers which can all be purchased at Virginia Lottery retail locations as well as online.

The largest online win, thus far, has been from a McLean woman who won $2 million playing Powerball.

Three online players each won $1,000 a week for life playing Cash4Life.

“Virginians have really taken to the convenience of playing the Lottery from their smartphones, tablets or computers. The Lottery is constantly looking for innovative and convenient ways to meet customer expectations while also providing lots of opportunities for our players to imagine the possibilities of a winning moment. Online lottery games continue to help support our mission of generating profits for K-12 education all across the Commonwealth.”

Kevin Hall, Executive Director of the Virginia Lottery
