Louisiana sportsbooks launched in October 2021. Online gambling is still on the shelf in Louisiana. The Louisiana State Police must investigate and clear all license applicants before they can be allowed to operate. There are still no apps available.
Louisiana betting sites are accepting pre-registrations and offering bonuses to early registrants. The LGCB hopes to go live in late January.
The following licensed LA betting apps are ready to go: BetMGM, BetFred, Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel and BetRivers. Louisiana's population can support 6-10 online operators.
Louisiana sports betting is the only approved form of online gambling in the Bayou State. Regulators must develop rules, accept applications and issue licenses before other forms of internet gambling become available. Online casinos and/or poker are not drawing serious attention in either house.
