Payments platform Nuvei announced the broadening of its partnership with Italian sports betting, online casino and poker platform GoldBet, allowing the portal to add new payment methods to its online cashier, including Apple Pay, according to a Thursday (July 14) joint press release.

The deal marks an expansion of the companies’ 2020 agreement that integrated Nuvei’s full stack payments solution. Through the collaboration, GoldBet is one of the first operators in Italy to provide players with Apple Pay withdrawals in addition to deposits, the press release said.

“We are thrilled to announce that we are extending our partnership with Nuvei to add more alternative payment methods into our online cashier,” said Alessandro Fiumara, GoldBet’s managing director for betting and digital, Italy, in the joint release. “Being able to offer our players seamless deposits and withdrawals has been a critical factor in achieving our goal of having the best player experience in Italy.”

Philip Fayer, Nuvei chair and CEO, called GoldBet “one of the leading gaming platforms in Italy because of its commitment to player experience. Frictionless deposits and withdrawals, superior card acceptance rates, and a wide choice of preferred payment methods are all key; that’s what Nuvei brings to the table for operators.”

Last week, Nuvei continued its string of partnerships with a new collaboration with GAN Limited, combining Nuvei’s products with GAN’s software-as-a-service gaming platform technology. The collaboration follows the debut of the regulated gaming market in Ontario earlier this year and is now being expanded for operators in the U.S. and Canada.

In May, the company teamed with Swedish gaming company Betsson Group to help it bring its online sportsbook to the U.S. The same week, Nuvei announced it was working with Hard Rock Digital to offer payments services for its Hard Rock Sportsbook mobile app for players in Arizona, Virginia and other states where betting services have yet to launch.

And in April, the company said it was expanding its partnership with Novibet, the European betting firm and online casino, which allows players to make deposits using Apple Pay.
