When the two casinos in Niagara Falls open seven days from now at 50 per cent capacity, there will be no drinking or eating in the gambling dens.

Both Casino Niagara and Fallsview Casino and Resort have strict masks-at-all-times policies when they reopen on December 31 at 12:01 am so the casino floors are gambling only.

When insauga.com called Niagara Casinos, a body that overlooks both properties, we were told, “There will only be alcohol available in restaurants when you’re seated at the table. Due to the mask policy, that means no drinking or eating in the casinos.”

She added that the situation “could change” when the province goes to its next level of restriction lifting on February 21 but not before that date.

For the gamblers, Casino Niagara offers 1,300 slots and electronic gaming tables and is offering limited table games (Poker, Blackjack, etc) from noon to 4 am daily.

Fallsview Casino has more than 3,500 slot machines and recently added an additional 365 slot machines in the newly expanded gaming floor space, where it was once the 365 Club and retail space. Blackjack, baccarat and single zero roulette are offered in the Salon Privé. On the main gaming floor, limited table games are available for Blackjack, Roulette, Spanish 21, Casino War, Mississippi Stud Poker, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Poker, Mini Baccarat and Pai Gow.

The hotel at Fallsview will be opening at 3 pm on December 30.
