Pennsylvania gaming revenue in April up 14% over 2021

Pennsylvania gaming revenue in April 2022 was $187.6 million. The Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Dauphin County had the most revenue with $65.5 million, followed by Valley Forge Casino Resort, Upper Merion with about $57.4 million and Hollywood casino in Morgantown with almost $5.1 million in revenue. Parx Casino, Bethlehem had revenue of $ 57. 1 million for the month, down 9.34% from a year ago. Mount Airy Casino resort in Mt. Pocono had $20.0 million revenue for April, which was down 15.35% on last year.

Pennsylvania urges parents not to leave kids unattended in casino parking lots as incidents surge

Pennsylvania's Gaming Control Board has seen a 60% increase in reports of parents leaving their children alone in casino parking lots or hotel rooms. The agency's Bureau of Casino Compliance has received 269 reports this year. 68 of those reports involved children under 6 years old. Eight people were added to the public exclusion list. They were banned from all casinos in the state. Adults who leave their kids alone to gamble could face serious consequences. They could be banned for life from individual casinos or placed on the list of people banned. People concerned about gambling habits can find more information about the resources through the "Don't Gamble With Kids" website.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board voted to renew the casino license of Valley Forge Convention Center Partners. The company has "fulfilled the obligations under its previously approved casino operator’s license" and therefore qualified to have its license renewed for an additional five years. Since its opening in March 2012, Valley forge Casino has generated $2.04 billion in gross revenue from the play of slot machines, table games, iGaming, and sports wagering.

Casino Night hits big for Clarksville 'Bash to Benefit' fundraiser

The CMC Education Foundation held its annual Bash to Benefit fundraiser at Cross Creek Clays. This year's theme was casino night. About 170 people came to play and support the important work of the organization. Proceeds go to classroom grants for teachers, academic awards, and special requests. C MCSS's Teacher Warehouse is also a big beneficiary of foundation's efforts. In the past 11 years, CMMSS saved teachers over $600,000 in out-of-pocket expenses. Penn National opened a career center on Tuesday and is accepting applications for about 375 new positions at Hollywood Casino Morgantown.
