Monarch Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk has completed its $400 million redevelopment. The first stage of the project saw the development of a 23-story hotel tower with 250 rooms, a trio of new restaurants, and a spa.
Monarch Casino and Resort Incorporated has finished work on a new hotel for its sole Colorado venue. It features almost 100 VIP suites and a 2,000 sq ft penthouse apartment with pool table, fireplace and bedrooms with spa tubs.
Monarch Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk was established in 1993. It features a 60,000 sq ft gaming floor with 1,250 slots and about 40 gaming tables. There are also bars, banqueting and meeting spaces, a nine-story parking garage and a car park for 1.500 vehicles.
Monarch Casino and Resort Incorporated spent $76 million in late-April 2012 to purchase the former Riviera Black Hawk Casino. The expansion will allow the company to exploit 2020 legislation that removed Colorado’s $100 maximum betting limit and allowed local casinos to offer a range of new games.
