RENO, Nev. (AP) _ Monarch Casino & Resort Inc. (MCRI) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $18.1 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Reno, Nevada-based company said it had net income of 93 cents per share.
The casino operator posted revenue of $97.7 million in the period, exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $79.4 million.
Monarch Casino shares have risen almost 2% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $62.21, a climb of 77% in the last 12 months.
