Supporters of gambling addiction recovery were shocked when they discovered that the Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health had launched a shocking free slot play ad.

The Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health (MACGH) is a private non-profit organization that was founded in 1983. It is contracted by the state of Massachusetts to support people with gambling addiction during their process of recovery.

The event was organized by "Toys for Tots" and the Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville. People who bought a toy would get $10 of free slot play at the casino. The event is organized in coordination with the Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health. Experts and advocates are concerned that it could be a trigger for gambling addicts. The organization has not responded to WBZ's request for an explanation.
