Last week she found that the room had taken her funds and her partner had disappeared. A male victim had deposited HK $3.6m into the same Cotay VIP room. He was promised a daily interest rate of 1%. He couldn't retrieve his deposit or the interest. The VIP Business permitted its account room to authorize the withdrawals by Tong on a number of occasions.

The local government is conducting a 45-day consultation on regulatory reform. The proposed changes focus on increased casino surveillance and regulation of deposits in junket rooms. Wynn Macau shares took a hit as a result of the consultation.
