A lucky punter has taken home a life-changing €250,000 top prize in Wednesday night's Lotto Plus 2.

The jackpot was won by a player who bought their ticket online, and Lotto chiefs have confirmed that they are based in Co Kerry.

The winning numbers in the Plus 2 were 09, 11, 14, 15, 25, and 36.

Meanwhile there was once again no winner of the record €19million top prize in the main Lotto draw.

Nobody matched the winning numbers of 02, 05, 13, 22, 36 and 43 with bonus of 03.

For the 54th straight draw, the top prize was up for grabs as it was capped at €19.06 million.

But the jackpot will continue to Christmas weekend as it wasn't won on Wednesday.

Meanwhile there was also no winner of the top prize in the Lotto Plus 1, where the winning numbers were 01, 03, 16, 21, 22 and 29 with a bonus of 27.

There was good news elsewhere however, as an Irish shop confirmed it sold the life-changing €500,000 top prize in Tuesday night's EuroMillions Plus.

The jackpot winning ticket was sold at the Corrib Oil shop in Castlerea.

The winning numbers for the main draw were 12, 17, 21, 34, 38 with the lucky stars of 02, 03.

Manager of the lucky shop Keith Gallagher said that the win will be extra sweet just days before Christmas.

He told Midwest Radio: "Absolutely we're delighted, couldn't happen at a better time of year with Christmas just around the corner."

However he explained that whoever won the top prize may not be a local: "We do get a lot of passing traffic but whoever got it, we just hope they needed it."
