Loto-Québec issues a statement on August 4, 2022. It explains the situation at Casino Montréal and its protesting gambling workers. The workers walked off the job on May 21, 2018, because they found the Crown corporation’s terms for a new collective agreement insufficient.

Other unions of Loto-Québec casinos have accepted similar terms in the last few months. The union wants 30 minutes paid break for each hour worked. Crown is against it. It is concerned about responsible management of public funds.
Croupiers at Loto-Québec's head office in Montreal walked off the job. However, the employer says that work at the gaming property has continued. The employer also shared that the venue enjoys plenty of interest in its gaming tables.
