Kirtiben Patel of Sylva tried her luck on a Fast Play ticket on June 8 and scored a $216,955 jackpot.

Patel purchased her winning $10 Jackpot 7’s ticket while at work at the store she owns, the Holiday BP on Rufus Robinson Road.

The odds of winning a Fast Play jackpot are 1 in 240,000. A $10 ticket receives the full jackpot amount.

Patel claimed her prize July 12 at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, she took home $153,499.

Fast Play’s rolling, progressive jackpot increases with every ticket sold until it is won.
