Lydia Hirales is a banquet server at the Palms Casino Resort. She has been working there for 21 years. The Culinary Union represents hundreds of thousands of Nevada hospitality workers. It is 54 percent Latino. Las Vegas is well known for its 24/7 hospitality. There are many Latinos working behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

Latinos are the backbone of Las Vegas hospitality industry. 45 percent of the Culinary Union's diverse membership are immigrants. They come from 178 countries and speak more than 40 different languages. They work hard but make it look easy. It's hospitality that makes Las Vegas shine a little brighter.
