The Florida Voters in Charge initiative will withdraw from the matter for 2022.

Las Vegas Sands has dropped the casino measure in Florida. The measure was defeated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, which spent $40 million to ensure it didn't make it to the ballot. The tribe accused Las Vegas of using underhand practices to employ out-of-state signature gatherers.

The Florida Voters in Charge is discontinuing its efforts to push the measure for this legislative session. Leon County Circuit Judge John Cooper denied a deadline extension. The committee submitted more than the required number of voter signatures to make the 2022 ballot. Seminole Tribe is determined to retain some form of exclusivity over gambling in Florida.
