One of the biggest casino chains in Alabama also boasts one of the biggest gaming rooms in the state at the Wind Creek Casino & Hotel. In addition to the Wind Creek, the Poarch Band of Creek tribe also runs the Tallapoosa Casino in Montgomery and Riverside Casino in Wetumpka; the three combined have nearly 3,000 electronic gaming machines, with more than half – 1,600-plus – at the Wind Creek.
Of the 225,000 square meters the Wind Creek Casino & Hotel occupies, some 57,000 is devoted to the gaming floor open 24 hours a day hosting those 1,600 slots and video poker games. At center of the ovular space is the Center Bar, which plays host to entertainment acts and, naturally, serves drinks.
The remaining square footage of the complex is devoted to the massive 17-story, 236-room luxury hotel. While no table games are in operation at Wind Creek as of yet, the management “are making efforts to negotiate the ability to provide you the opportunity to experience table games at this property.”
