Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort is one of three casinos licensed to offer legal sports betting in Arkansas since wagering was legalized in the Wonder State following the 2018 election. Oaklwn was the first casino to set up sports-betting operations in July 2019. Saracen Casino resort joined OakLawn in October 2019 and they made $2.2 million in wagers at the two casino sportsbooks. Southland Casino will join them in January 2020.
Arkansas legalized sports betting in December 2021. It took more than three years for the law to be approved. Online sports gambling was launched in early March. Southland was the first to launch, with a web-only online platform. Saracen went live in May. Arkansas has seen $176.6 million in total handle since the inception of legalized sport betting.
