Jeff Ifrah is Founding Member and Managing Partner of Ifrare law firm. He is optimistic about the US gambling industry in the future.

JI was a federal prosecutor in New Jersey before moving to Washington, D.C. in 1997. He was involved in the early cases involving New York State's Department of Gaming Enforcement. In 2010 and 2011, the DOJ became involved with more enforcement efforts. JI started to represent people looking to get started in gaming in N.J., helping them with licensing and regulation. He also started a trade association called iDEA, which stands for the Internet Development Economic Association. i DEA was created to leverage their power to help pass regulation and spearhead efforts for responsible gambling.

Jeff Ifrah is working to promote online gaming legislation in Indiana. He believes the land-based casinos are starting to see the value of online gambling. iDEA members operate in the state. Online poker remains illegal in this state, but they are working with the Indiana Casino Association to pass online legislation.

JI believes the growth of the online gaming industry is due to the 2018 Supreme Court decision. He also believes that the industry will continue to grow on the sports side. Michigan only passed an online gambling law during the pandemic. The pandemics might slow down the development of online casinos. However, the future is bright for the gaming. New Jersey and Nevada have a lot of revenue from both sports and casino online games. The revenue is split evenly between online casino and online sports. States that only have sports can expect to have more revenue when they add casino or poker.

The two biggest markets in the US have not opened yet. California and Texas represent 50% of the sports market. When these two states pass sports betting and iGaming legislation, everyone will be able to distinguish themselves as the market leaders. There is still so much room to grow the industry.

As more states introduce legalised sports betting, responsible gaming is important. The industry cannot afford any scandal or bad news. Sports betting must stay a form of entertainment and not a source of problems for consumers. UK has raised concerns about credit card fraud and other issues that have raised concern about responsible gambling. Jeff Ifrah is still writing the US gambling story.

Jeff Ifrah is writing the US gambling story. He explains why it's important to educate consumers about the difference between legal and illegal betting sites. If a state decides not to regulate sports betting, it encourages people to bet on illegal offshore sites, which is bad for consumers. If the state legalises gaming, the operator will educate people about what's legal.
