The Japanese government has decided not to collect income tax from international tourists' earnings from gambling. The decision will be incorporated into Japan's 2021 tax package. The government had also announced its intention to eliminate this tax on foreigners when drawing up the 2020 fiscal plan.

The projected Japanese casinos must be on par with international standards.
