It’s not all that often that a totally new and totally enormous building opens up in Vegas; after all, there’s not that much space left for them! Up until 2007, the Stardust Resort & Casino had stood on the grounds that the Resorts World now occupies. From the Stardust’s last stand to the Resort World’s completion has been a long road. We’ll tell you all about how it got to this stage and what to expect for anyone who fancies booking a trip.

Back in 2007, the Stardust was demolished in order to make way for the Boyd Group’s planned Echelon hotel. Though the construction began on Echelon Place, a poor financial forecast meant that the Boyd Group ended up selling to Genting some years later. Although construction was scheduled to begin all the way back in 2014, various setbacks – including a nasty lawsuit – meant that it took a considerable while longer than planned for the Resorts World Las Vegas to properly get underway. It took until 2017 to begin construction in earnest, and it was only a couple of months ago that the resort was finally opened to the public.

As it happens, this might just have been a spell of good luck after all, as recent reports suggest that international travel is firmly back on the agenda for many of us. It could be that there’ll be plenty of vacation-deprived holidaymakers turning up on the Las Vegas strip very soon. Owing to the collapse of a couple of big building projects in Vegas, this option from Genting is the only brand new resort opening on the strip, so it looks as though Resorts World could have plenty of booked-up bedrooms.

For those wanting to stay at the hotel, there are different options available at a price point to suit most budgets. The Hilton rooms are at the lower end of the price scale and offer clean, comfortable, and modern accommodation at a bargain price. The higher end of the price scale is where you’ll find the suites, villas, and palaces. The palaces may seem rather grandly named, but they’re deserving of their title. With four en-suite bedrooms, their own private gardens, valet parking service, pure linen sheets, and incredible floor-to-ceiling views of the Las Vegas strip, if you’ve got the cash to spare then the price is more than justified.

Vegas is famed for its casinos and, whilst the hotel portion of this resort is incredible, the casino part is out of this world. Fans of online jackpot games will be able to play on their favourite video slots or use their skills to spin the roulette wheel for real. Resorts World has more than 117,000 square feet of gaming, including table games and slots. If you’d like an even more luxurious experience, then you can even head up to the Sky Casino for incredible views over the city and some of the most incredible chandeliers on the strip.

The best news is you don’t even have to leave the table to enjoy food from one of their brilliant restaurants. This company is committed to bringing back old Vegas-style hospitality, so there’ll be no queueing up for the buffet – simply order and it shall arrive. Of course, if you’d rather have a sit-down meal then the Resorts World Casino has you covered there too. With an almost ridiculous selection of restaurants on the premises you will be genuinely spoiled for choice. There’s a particular focus on Pan-Asian street food, which will delight both gourmets and fussy eaters. Whether you fancy dim-sum or Korean fried chicken, yakitori or a bao bun, your tastes are more than catered for. Oh, and if you did fancy that buffet then The Kitchen at Resorts World is open for you. With a world-cuisine approach to cooking, there is everything you could ever want from a buffet and with so much other choice, the queues shouldn’t be too bad either.
