Las Vegas Sands is planning to become a strategic investor in digital gaming technologies. The company's former CEO and Chairman, late businessman Sheldon Adelson, had opposed to digital casinos. Davis Catlin will lead the company’s new digital gambling investment team. Mr. Cat Lin joins from Virginia-based private equity firm Sands Capital Management where he spent 14 years.
Las Vegas Sands is considering investing in digital gaming technology. The company is also considering buying online gambling operator 888 Holdings. The deal is unlikely to happen. Las Vegas is interested in investing more in B2B segment of the digital gambling industry. It was in January that Las Las Vegas Sands was considering acquiring 8 88 Holdings, but the deal did not materialize.
