Coinciding with the resurgence in online gambling, Illinois Lottery is extending some of its instant draw games to allow online sales.

The state lottery, operated by Camelot Illinois, announced Monday it is launching online sales for five different Fast Play instant draw games. The games launched in 2020 and will continue to be available for purchase at retail locations.

"By modernizing the way we deliver our products, we provide convenience for players while also strengthening our ability to continue generating essential funding for education and good causes across Illinois,” said Harold Mays, head of the Illinois Lottery.

States such as Minnesota and Georgia also have online-based lottery games. Online lottery sales are legal in other states but several of them have yet to implement any online-based games.

Illinois Fast Play games include Piggy Bank Bucks, Hot Dice, Blackjack, Illinois Jackpot and Quickspot. The games have generated $48 million in revenue since they launched in Illinois in September 2020.

Gamblers can play the online Fast Play games by downloading the Illinois Lottery app or visiting illinoislottery.com. Online gambling has surged in aftermath of a 2018 U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowing sports betting outside of Nevada.
