When you die in Warzone 2’s new DMZ mode, you’ll drop everything you’re carrying. However, Insured Slots allow you to recover your best weapon without too much effort.

Lose an insured weapon and you’ll have to wait for a significant cooldown before you can use it again. It pays to have more than one slot on the go, so you’re never entering the DMZ unprepared.

What Are Insured Slots in DMZ?

Insured Slots allow players to deploy to the DMZ with their own custom weapons, complete with attachments and camos of their choice, and not lose it upon dying.

However, if you do die, your insured slot will be placed on a 10-hour cooldown, so you’ll definitely want to have extras available!

How to Unlock Insured Slots in DMZ

To unlock a second Insured Slot in DMZ, players must complete every Tier 3 mission for all factions: Legion, White Lotus, and Black Mous.

A third Insured Slot can also be unlocked by completing Tier Five for any one faction, essentially the organization’s entire mission pool.

How to Get Insured Weapon Back Faster – Reduce Cooldowns

Successfully exfilling from the DMZ with a large amount of money will reduce cooldowns on your Insured Slots significantly.

Looting $3500 will reduce your wait time by 3 hours, for example, while leaving the DMZ with $30,000 nets you 5 and a half hours off your cooldown timer.

We don’t yet know the exact formula to calculate how much time you’ll get back from extracting with a given amount of money. But it’s clear that players are rewarded for their success in DMZ.
