York County's first casino is now hiring.Hollywood Casino York is scheduled to open in August at the York Galleria Mall in Springettsbury Township, pending customary regulatory approvals, according to Penn National Gaming.The casino is looking to fill about 200 jobs and has set up a career center in the lower level of the mall. The center is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Job seekers can also apply online.Various positions will be available in casino operations, food and beverage, security and surveillance, human resources, marketing and more.Dellas Edmisten, 68, is hoping to get hired. He is a retired electrician but said retirement has gotten boring."I'd like to be active again," he said.Red Lion resident Jackie Creasy is also applying. She said she gambles, so working in a casino appeals to her. "I love it – the atmosphere, the 'ka-ching,' pulling the handles," she said.Hollywood Casino York is still under construction.Penn National said the 80,000-square-foot facility will feature approximately 500 slot machines and 24 tables games, but it can accommodate up to 750 slot machines and 40 table games.Hollywood Casino York will also offer a Barstool Sportsbook and racebook, casual restaurant and bar, and grab-and-go eatery, Penn National said.
