Google Play Store India to Include Real Money Gambling Apps

In what can be considered a massive boost to the online gambling industry in India, Google will start allowing Indian-based real-money gaming (RMG) apps in its Google Play Store at the end of this month.

As first reported exclusively by G2G News, Google launched a pilot program on September 7 in India, letting developers and gaming operators distribute their apps in its marketplace. These apps will be listed for a limited period from September 28, 2022, through September 28, 2023.

“We are constantly exploring ways for local developers to build successful businesses and offer delightful experiences on Google Play,” a Google spokesperson told local media outlets. “Through this pilot program, we are taking a measured approach that will help us collate learnings and retain an enjoyable and safe experience for our users.”
