November 2020 will be a crucial time for Georgia voters as they will decide the reelection of President Donald Trump and the state's entry into the gambling sector.

Georgia is one of the five states that have no casinos, sports betting, or parimutuel betting. The House Regulated Industries Committee voted 13-3 in favor of Senate Resolution 841 on Monday. It would allow Georgia state residents to amend the constitution and allow casino gambling, parims betting and sports gambling. If the proposal gets a two-thirds majority vote in each of legislative chambers, the issue will be put to the November 2020 ballot.

Georgia needs capital investments and a new stream of tax revenue. The owners of the Atlanta Motor Speedway were willing to invest about $1 billion to transform their racetrack into a casino resort. House Bill 903, introduced by Sen. Burt Jones, would be tabled at the full Senate this week. It will charge an annual fee of $900,000 and generate 20% of revenue from mobile sports betting.

Georgia needs investments. SR841 would allow the people to vote.
